Tips to follow this Summer to stay healthy

Safety First: Tips to follow this Summer to stay healthy

Here comes the lazy, longer & warmer days of summer!

With this harsh climate and temperature rapidly rising, we tend to drain off our energy very soon 🙁

Bringing a plethora of problems- hair, skin & health issues like heat boils, sunstroke, heavy sweating, weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea, fainting, muscle cramps etc we definitely need to adapt healthy living tips.

While we can’t control the temperature outside, we can do all the possible things which will surely keep us healthy and safeguard us against the heat.

Follow these 6 essential tips to beat the heat, stay energetic and look fresh this summer:

  1. Rethink your drink: Drink plenty of water as it prevents your body from dehydration. Due to excessive sweating we tend to loose electrolytes from our body which results in reduced energy. If not water, grab mineral rich fruits like lemon, watermelon, kiwi etc
  2. Eat Light & Right: We lose appetite due to excessive heat. It is therefore essential to eat light but right food to regain energy in order to fight the heat & remain healthy with the vital nutrients.
  3. Wear loose & light clothes: To keep yourself cool and for good air circulation wear light coloured and loose fitting clothes. Choose cotton over synthetic.
  4. Exercise to energise, not exert: Don’t push beyond your physical limits. Store your energy levels to remain active. Opt for indoor exercises rather than outdoor.
  5. Protect yourself: When outdoors, apply sunscreen at least 30 minutes prior to heading out. Get a pair of UV protected sunglasses to protect your eyes from harmful sun rays.
  6.  Get some ‘me’ time: Take advantage of summer’s slower schedule by grabbing a novel, indulging in some long lost hobby, plan a vacation to unwind and breathe.

Do you know, slowing down with summer has multiple benefits. It lowers your blood pressure, heart rate & stress hormones.

Spend time with your loved ones and cherish memorable moments, that is definitely healthier than standing in long billing 🙁

So remember…It’s not summer time, it’s some more time 🙂

Now all your summer essentials are just a click or call away.

Winter Care: Head to Toe!

Winter has come, the coziest season of the year!

From enjoying warmest blanket and sleeping till late in the morning to the most delightful time to travel, there are many reasons to fall in love with winter.

Gear up Foodies! This is the time when our digestive systems function better & also there’s various green leafy veggies available only during winter.

Mouth-watering and healthy recipes like Gajar Ka Halwa, Makke Di Roti, Sarson Da Saag, homemade soups etc. are simply delicious & irresistible.

Apart from gorging on food and adding on extra calories, we also need to take an extra step to pamper our skin during winter months as the dryness in the climate will make our skin look rough and dull.

So here are a few winter care tips from head to toe, follow them to protect and nourish your skin throughout the season.

1.Scalp – The skin under our hair needs essential oils such as coconut, olive or almond to keep it moisturised and to avoid itchy scalp and dandruff. Lukewarm oil before applying every week and keep it for 15-20 minutes before washing out thoroughly. You can also use anti dandruff shampoo for better results.

2.Face – Skin under our eyes is especially thin & sensitive. Keep it moisturised day and night. Though you may enjoy sun during the day a sunscreen layer is a must. Use a sunscreen 15 minutes before you step out.

3.Lips – Nobody likes chapped lips, so a lip balm with SPF is a must. Try Maybelline baby lips for smooth and 8 hours protection with SPF.

4.Body – We often forget to moisturise our body. Various body lotions are available, grab one and apply right after you freshen up to lock the moisture.

5.Hands & Feet – Unlike our face and body, hands get washed repeatedly throughout the day. Keep a moisturiser handy to use and avoid wrinkly hands. Before you slip into your blanket reach for some coconut oil or your favourite hand or body lotion, massage onto your feet and cover it with a pair of cotton socks. Wake up in the morning with supple feet.

6.Inside Out – Hydrate yourself inside out by drinking water throughout the day to keep skin clear & glowing.

Before you get cosy, don’t forget to do special winter care shopping to pamper yourself.
